Conservation issues
The Quercus forest is threatened by heavy grazing pressure which is preventing regeneration. Harbour facilities in the south-western section of the IBA may be developed into an oil refinery.

Threats: abandonment/reduction of land management (low), agricultural intensification/expansion (medium), aquaculture/fisheries (low), forest grazing (medium), groundwater abstraction (unknown), industrialization/urbanization (high), recreation/tourism (low), selective logging/cutting (unknown)
