Site Description
Two small rocky islands vegetated with sparse scrub.

Habitats: Artificial landscapes (5%, Arable land), Coastline/rocky areas (15%, Sea cliffs and rocky shores), Sea/marine area (10%, Sea inlets and coastal features), Shrubland (70%, Sclerophyllous scrub, garrigue and maquis; Scrub)

Land use: agriculture (50%)

220 ha of the IBA are covered by Special Protection Area (SPA) NISIDES STAMFANI & ARPYIA (STROFADES)(GR2210004).


Birds
This is an important area for breeding seabirds and passage migrants. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria: Aythya nyroca (passage), Aquila clanga (passage), Falco naumanni (passage), Larus audouinii (passage).

Conservation issues
The main threats include hunting, despite its being prohibited, introduced rats Rattus , disturbance and fires. The area is a candidate SAC.
