Site Description
An inaccessible rugged mountain chain with high cliffs in the western part.

Habitats: Coastline/rocky areas (Inland cliffs; Scree and boulders), Forest (Broadleaved deciduous woodland; Native coniferous woodland), Shrubland (Sclerophyllous scrub, garrigue and maquis)

Land use: agriculture (90%), not utilised (10%)

Part of IBA is covered by Wildlife Refuge (Ravenis- Malouniou, 2,500ha).11692 ha of the IBA are covered by Special Protection Area (SPA) ORI PARAMYTHIAS, STENA KALAMA ΚΑΙ STENA ACHERONTA(GR2120008).


Birds
The site is of great importance for raptors. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria: Falco naumanni (breeding).
