Site Description
An area of hills and gorges dominated by phrygana vegetation. The main human activities are agriculture, particularly livestock-farming, hunting and tourism.

Habitats: Artificial landscapes (10%, Arable land), Coastline/rocky areas (50%, Inland cliffs), Shrubland (40%, Sclerophyllous scrub, garrigue and maquis)
Land use: agriculture (40%), not utilised (40%), tourism/recreation (30%)

Protection status
National None International None 3746 ha of the IBA are covered by Special Protection Area (SPA) ORI ZAKROU(GR4320012).
Birds
This is an important site for passage migrants and raptors and species associated with cliffs and hills.
