Site Description
A sparsely forested area of ravines and valleys. Livestock-farming is widespread.

Habitats: Coastline/rocky areas (10%, Inland cliffs), Forest (50%, Broadleaved deciduous woodland; Broadleaved evergreen woodland; Native coniferous woodland), Grassland (30%, Alpine, subalpine and boreal grassland), Shrubland (10%, Scrub)
Land use: agriculture (60%), forestry (30%), not utilised (10%)

Protection status
National None International High
Part of IBA covered by Wildlife Refuge (Viras/Eptamilon, Dinousas, Serron, 870 ha).
26512 ha of the IBA are covered by Special Protection Area (SPA) KOILADA TIMIOU PRODROMOU - MENOIKION(GR1260009).
Birds
This is an important site for species breeding in a mosaic of open forest, scrub and grassland.

Conservation issues
The main threats are from intensified forest management and illegal hunting. Part of the area is a candidate SAC.
