Site Description
A large island and the nearby islets dominated by maquis. Human activities include livestock-farming, fishing and hunting.

Habitats: Artificial landscapes (5%, Arable land; Other urban and industrial areas; Perennial crops, orchards and groves), Coastline/rocky areas (10%, Inland cliffs; Rock stacks and islets; Sea cliffs and rocky shores), Sea/marine area (5%, Sea inlets and coastal features), Shrubland (80%, Sclerophyllous scrub, garrigue and maquis)

7000 ha of the IBA are covered by Special Protection Area (SPA) NISOS KASOS KAI SYMPLEGMA KASONISION(GR4210028).
