Site Description
A mountain dominated by Fagus and Quercus forest with extensive alpine pastures.

Habitats: Coastline/rocky areas (5%, Inland cliffs), Forest (70%, Broadleaved deciduous woodland; Broadleaved evergreen woodland; Mixed woodland; Native coniferous woodland), Grassland (10%, Alpine, subalpine and boreal grassland), Shrubland (20%, Sclerophyllous scrub, garrigue and maquis)

Land use: agriculture (60%), forestry (40%), military (5%)

4,500ha of IBA covered by Wildlife Refuge (Periochi Pangaiou Orous, 4,500ha). Part of IBA covered by Wildlife Refuge (Kalias-Iliokomis/Protis- Iliokomis, 800ha). Part of IBA covered by Wildlife Refuge (Kormitsas- Iliokomis, 1,560ha).

This is an important site for resident forest species.
