Site Description
A typical Aegean island covered with phrygana and with a small coastal wetland. The site includes the adjacent rocky islets of Vous, Serfopoula and Piperi. The main human activities are arable agriculture, livestock-farming, fishing, tourism, and hunting.

Habitats: Artificial landscapes (15%, Arable land; Other urban and industrial areas), Coastline/rocky areas (10%, Inland cliffs; Rock stacks and islets; Sea cliffs and rocky shores), Sea/marine area (5%, Sea inlets and coastal features), Shrubland (75%, Sclerophyllous scrub, garrigue and maquis)
Land use: agriculture (60%), fisheries/aquaculture (5%), not utilised (25%), tourism/recreation (5%), urban/industrial/transport (5%)

Protection status
National Partial International None 200ha of IBA covered by Wildlife Refuge (Chora- Ag. Kiriaki/Serifos, 200ha). 800ha of IBA covered by Wildlife Refuge (Kentarchos- Galini/Serifos, 800ha).
Birds
This is an important area for raptors. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria: Larus audouinii .

Conservation issues
The main threats are from hunting, tourist and infrastructure developments. Part of the area is a candidate SAC.
