Site Description
A coastal site including Pinus forest, maquis, phrygana and cliffs. It includes the islet of Patroklou.

Habitats: Artificial landscapes (15%, Other urban and industrial areas; Perennial crops, orchards and groves), Coastline/rocky areas (5%, Inland cliffs; Rock stacks and islets; Sea cliffs and rocky shores), Forest (20%, Native coniferous woodland), Shrubland (60%, Sclerophyllous scrub, garrigue and maquis)
Land use: agriculture (60%), tourism/recreation (10%), urban/industrial/transport (5%)

National Partial International None
3,500ha of IBA covered by National Park (Sounio, 3,500ha).2109 ha of the IBA are covered by Special Protection Area (SPA) PERIOCHI LEGRENON - NISIDA PATROKLOU(GR3000014).
Birds
The site is important for species that occur in coastal scrub and forest.

Conservation issues
The main threats are from burning, urbanization and hunting. Part of the area is a candidate SAC.
