Site Description
Steep mountains with numerous cliffs and Castanea and Abies forest. Human activities include forestry, stock-raising, and hunting.

674ha of IBA covered by Aesthetic Forest (Steni Aesthetic Forest, 674ha). 677ha of IBA covered by Wildlife Refuge (Stenis Dirfys Chalkidas, 677ha). 212ha of IBA covered by Wildlife Refuge (Tsirloneri- Ortari/Kymis- Vitalou, 212ha). 2,500ha of IBA covered by Wildlife Refuge (Makiolivado- Virgini- Koutas/Pagontas, Markaton, Ag. Sofiar, Attalis, 2,500ha). 500ha of IBA covered by Wildlife Refuge (Klimataria- Koutoupas/Glifades, 500ha). 3,400ha of IBA covered by Wildlife Refuge (Kaditiko- Pasiotioka/Kadiou- Ag.Vlassiou- Manikion, 3,400ha).
Birds
This is an important area for breeding raptors and species characteristic of forest and scrub. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria: Falco naumanni (non-breeding).
