Site Description
A low mountain in northern Evia, with extensive conifer forests, mixed forests and scrub. Human activities include forestry, livestock-farming, and hunting.

Habitats: Artificial landscapes (10%, Other urban and industrial areas), Forest (79%, Broadleaved deciduous woodland; Broadleaved evergreen woodland; Native coniferous woodland), Shrubland (15%, Sclerophyllous scrub, garrigue and maquis)

Land use: agriculture (30%), forestry (70%), urban/industrial/transport (5%)

Part of IBA covered by Wildlife Refuge (Iera Moni Galtaki, 900ha). Part of IBA covered by Wildlife Refuge (Palioplatana/Dafnontos- Pagontos- Kamaritsas, 2,500ha).

This is an important site for breeding raptors and for passage migrants.
