Site Description
A mountain with extensive rocky areas and alpine grasslands. Human activities include livestock-farming, hunting, mining and recreation. The Reka ravine is used for the water-supply to the town of Amfissa.

Habitats: Coastline/rocky areas (15%, Inland cliffs; Scree and boulders), Forest (40%, Native coniferous woodland; Treeline ecotone), Grassland (43%, Alpine, subalpine and boreal grassland; Mesophile grasslands), Shrubland (5%, Sclerophyllous scrub, garrigue and maquis)

Land use: agriculture (90%), forestry (30%), hunting

2,894ha of IBA covered by Wildlife Refuge (Leukaditiou/Sykeas, 2,894ha). 3,300ha of IBA covered by Wildlife Refuge (Rekas/Prosiliou, 3,300ha). Part of IBA covered by Controlled Hunting Area (Orini Parnassidas, 24,034ha).10547 ha of the IBA are covered by Special Protection Area (SPA) KORYFES OROUS GKIONA, CHARADRA REKA, LAZOREMA KAI VATHIA LAKKA(GR2450007).


Birds
This is an important area for raptors and alpine species. Breeding birds include four of the 10 species in Europe that are restricted (when breeding) to the Eurasian high-montane biome.

Conservation issues
