Site Description
A mountainous site with grazed plateaus and some, mainly Abies- dominated, forest. Human activities include livestock-farming, forestry, and hunting.

Habitats: Coastline/rocky areas (5%, Inland cliffs), Forest (15%, Broadleaved deciduous woodland; Native coniferous woodland), Grassland (40%, Alpine, subalpine and boreal grassland; Dry siliceous grassland; Steppes and dry calcareous grassland), Shrubland (40%, Sclerophyllous scrub, garrigue and maquis; Scrub)
Land use: agriculture (90%), forestry (10%), tourism/recreation (5%)

National Partial International None 1,310ha of IBA covered by Wildlife Refuge (Bathi Greki/Kokoton- I.M. Xenias, 1,310ha). 1,470ha of IBA covered by Wildlife Refuge (Platanos, 1,470ha). Part of IBA covered by Wildlife Refuge (Pr. Ilias-Afrati/Lamias-Divris, 3,550ha). 1,700ha of IBA covered by Wildlife Refuge (Sapounas/Neraida, 1,700ha). 1,230ha of IBA covered by Wildlife Refuge (Neraida- Logitsi, 1,230ha). 1,450ha of IBA covered by Wildlife Refuge (Taratsa/Pelasgias-Milon, 1,450ha). 540ha of IBA covered by Wildlife Refuge (Fardikoli-Peria-Ag. Vlasias/Vrinainas-Ag. Ioannou, 540ha).
Birds
The site is important for breeding raptors, forest and upland species.
